Responsibilities of the KTT
The Technology Transfer Competence Centre (KTT) supports technology transfer in the German Programme for Medical Genome Research by coordinating the activities of the various technology transfer offices and improving communication within the network. Its tasks include reviewing all planned publications from the Programme for Medical Genome Research (Publication Screen) and requesting reports on completed technology transfer activities (Technology Transfer Reporting Database). All other aspects of patent protection and exploitation fall within the remit of the relevant technology transfer offices.
Beyond this, the KTT team is also happy to answer any questions on the value chain (identification of an invention, formulation of the inventive idea, patents, cooperations, exploitation).
Through its commercialization partner Ascenion, the KTT also offers designated technology transfer services to all grant holders in the Programme for Medical Genome Research on a modular basis. The three modules –
Module 1: Invention evaluation and IP due diligence (FTO analysis),
Module 2: Commercial exploitation of materials
Module 3: Patent exploitation
– are available individually or in any combination. Please contact Dr Hubert Müller.
In addition, the KTT offers potential industry partners clear and easily viewable access to licensable technologies and materials from the Programme for Medical Genome Research, via the Genome Marketplace (Technology Offers).
